Aluminium Football Studs New Balance Mizuno Diadora Under Armour Umbro – 12 pcs (8 × 16 mm + 4 × 18 mm)
- Long SG aluminium studs for New Balance, Mizuno, Diadora, Under Armour and Umbro boots. The 16 mm front / 18 mm rear setup is built for very wet grass, mud and the kind of matches where proper traction underfoot decides everything.
Studs for pitches that feel like a battle, not a routine match
This 8 × 16 mm + 4 × 18 mm set is not a normal everyday SG option. It is built for the days when you walk onto the pitch and instantly know what kind of game it is going to be: wet, soft, slippery, muddy and unforgiving under every step.
That is exactly where this setup makes sense. 16 mm in the front and 18 mm in the rear gives the boot much deeper bite into the surface and a far stronger anchor when ordinary stud lengths stop being enough.
Not a setup for everyone
Honestly, this is not something you buy “just in case”. If you mostly play on decent grass, you do not need this much stud length. But when the pitch turns into very wet natural turf, mud or heavy winter-style ground, that is when this kind of setup starts to matter.
These studs are for the player who knows that in those conditions there is no room for compromise. Either the boot holds, or you lose the first step, slide at the turn and start playing against the pitch instead of against the opponent.
Why 16 mm in the front and 18 mm in the rear?
On a very wet pitch, extra rear length alone is not enough. The front of the boot also needs deeper penetration into the ground so you do not lose control on the first movement, feint or burst of acceleration.
- 16 mm front – stronger forefoot grip in soft ground
- 18 mm rear – maximum heel support during launch and braking
- more confidence when driving into your run
- better stability on saturated, broken-up turf
A different shape, a more specialist purpose
These studs have a more specific shape than standard models. That already tells you what kind of product this is. Not a safe all-round option, but a proper heavy-condition setup for players who know exactly what kind of pitch they are stepping onto.
When does this set make the most sense?
- in heavy rain
- on waterlogged natural grass

Q&A
Are these studs for normal pitches?
No. This is a setup for very wet, soft and heavy natural grass. For normal conditions, they are simply too aggressive.
Is 18 mm already very long?
Yes. This is a proper long-stud option for players who need maximum anchoring in the ground.
Are these for everyone?
No. This is a more specialist setup for players who know they will be playing in mud, heavy rain or badly broken-up turf.
When do you feel the biggest difference?
On the first step, in braking and when changing direction on a slippery pitch. That is where long SG studs really do the work.
